SCUBA

Teens4Oceans SCUBA Program

Embark on one of the most profound and transformative journeys of your life. The open water diver is the world’s most popular scuba certification course and graduates are instilled with the skills and confidence needed to be safe, well-rounded, responsible ocean explorers. Breathing underwater and experiencing the vitality of a living reef will expand your understanding of how marine ecosystems function. This course will provide incredible insight into the role humanity plays within this fragile ecosystem and how deeply we all rely upon it. You will experience one of the most magical places on Earth. A world with features so dramatic they can be seen from space. A world where valleys are deeper than the Grand Canyon and the highest mountain is a mile taller than Mount Everest. A world of extremes, where some creatures are so huge they have hearts the size of a car and are heavier than 50 African elephants, while others are so small that billions of them live in a single liter of seawater. We know this world as the Earth’s ocean and it is indeed a world filled with wonder.

MAKE IT HAPPEN

Attaining your open water scuba certification requires a certain level of commitment and devotion. The course is comprised of three distinct components: academics, pool training and open water dives. The program is designed to allow students to learn the academics at their own pace and the online materials are supported with a colored manual and DVD, which reinforce comprehension of difficult concepts. Each step of the process helps develop your skillset and confidence in the water. So what are you waiting for? Plunge in feet first and start a life-long journey of ocean exploration!

Steps to SCUBA Certification:

  1. Identify a local dive shop
  2. Complete the online eLearning training
  3. Purchase mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit
  4. Classroom training
  5. Pool training
  6. Complete four open water dives
